A packshot or product image is an image of a product and its packaging, most often taken in a studio, for use in marketing. The main purpose of a product image is to make the product easily recognizable to the consumer, so that they reacts to the product in a sales situation.
Product images are often seen in TV commercials, where they make up 2 to 5 seconds out of a 30-second commercial. However, the bulk is used for special offer newspapers, catalogs, webshops and other print and digital media.
